XIII Workshop in International Economics and Finance

May 16-18, 2011 (Lima, Peru)

Organized by Fernando Broner (CREI and UPF), Ariel Burstein (UCLA), Tito Cordella (The World Bank), Andrew Powell (IADB), Eduardo Morón (Universidad del Pacífico), Andrés Neumeyer (Torcuato Di Tella), Guido Sandleris (Torcuato Di Tella) and Martín Uribe (Columbia)

 

The three-day workshop was financed by the Central Bank of Peru, the European Research Council, the IADB, LACEA, and the World Bank.
Fernando Broner (CREI), Tito Cordella (World Bank), Eduardo Morón (Universidad del Pacífico), Andrés Neumeyer (UTDT), and Guido Sandleris (UTDT) were the members of the organizing  committee.

During the first day, there were two panels by policy makers, which discussed the effects of high commodity prices and capital inflows to emerging markets and the appropriate policy responses. During the second and third days, eleven researchers presented their work on key topics in international finance and emerging markets.

The event brought together 30 academics and policy makers from Latin American, European, and U.S. institutions. Invited students from several Latin American universities also attended the conference.
