International Seminar on Macroeconomics

June 13-14, 2003

ISOM is an annual joint initiative of the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) and the European Economic Association (EEA). CREI acted as the host institution in ISOM's 26th edition, which was held in the UPF campus. The Program was prepared by Zvi Eckstein and Kenneth West, with Jeffrey Frankel and Francesco Giavazzi acting as co-chairs. Jordi Gali was the local coordinator.

The main objective of the ISOM is to provide a forum to discuss recent developments in the field of macroeconomic analysis. This year's program contained papers on economic geography, technology and business cycles, monetary policy and learning, aggregate investment, the influence of the policital cycle on budget policy, and risk-sharing by consumers, among others.
